According to information from law enforcement agencies, a man had previously shared unverified data on social media claiming that the draft Constitution had canceled the "ban on the sale of land to foreign citizens." The press service clarified that this information is false.
“The Almaty District Administrative Court found citizen A. guilty of disseminating false information and imposed a fine of 20 MRP (approximately 86 thousand tenge),” the department's press service noted.
Recall that last autumn, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev initiated a parliamentary reform that implied changes to the constitution. The decree on the establishment of a Constitutional Commission was signed on January 21, and just three days later, its first meeting took place.
On January 31, a draft of the new Constitution was presented in Kazakhstan, which includes the creation of a unicameral parliament (Kurultai), the introduction of the position of vice president (who should not be a member of a political party), as well as the establishment of citizenship deprivation for having a passport from another country.
