The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baghaei, stated that "in the coming days, measures that the Islamic Republic of Iran will take in response to this illegal and unjust step by the EU will be determined."

He added that various options for action have already been considered and appropriate proposals prepared for the competent authorities. The summoning of ambassadors began on Sunday and continues on Monday.

On January 29, Kaia Kallas, the head of the EU diplomatic corps, announced that the foreign ministers of EU countries had agreed to include the IRGC in the list of terrorist organizations. This decision was made against the backdrop of the IRGC's involvement in suppressing mass protests that erupted in Iran at the end of December. In response, the Iranian parliament also recognized the armed forces of EU countries as terrorist groups.

According to Iranian authorities, 3,100 people have died as a result of the protests. However, Time magazine, citing sources from Iran's Ministry of Health, reports 30,000 casualties.
