On February 13, during a conversation with journalists, U.S. President Donald Trump emphasized that Volodymyr Zelensky needs to "act" in order not to miss an "excellent opportunity" for peace with Russia. "Zelensky needs to act. Russia is interested in a deal, and if he does not take the initiative, he may miss an important chance," Trump stressed. These words were published on the official Rapid Response 47 account of the White House on the social network X.

Meanwhile, in an interview with The Atlantic magazine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that he would prefer the continuation of military actions to a "bad peace." He added that he is not ready to accept conditions that he considers unacceptable for his country, despite his desire to end the conflict as soon as possible.

Zelensky also stated that "Ukraine is not losing." He emphasized that if Trump wants to strengthen his reputation as a peacemaker, he should use this moment to promote the end of the war.

It was previously reported that a new round of negotiations between the delegations of Ukraine, Russia, and the U.S. is expected in Geneva on February 17-18. According to Politico, the American side hopes for progress; however, the key issue remains the situation with the territories.
