At the opening of the International Agricultural Salon in Paris, Macron stated: "The Supreme Court analyzed the Constitution and found that these tariffs do not comply with it. The presence of a system of checks and balances in democratic countries is a positive aspect." This was reported by Euronews.

Additionally, the French president noted that his country plans to study the consequences of the new 10% global tariff introduced by the U.S. and, if necessary, take retaliatory measures.

Macron also emphasized that France is interested in maintaining exports to the U.S., including agricultural products, luxury goods, clothing, and aviation technology. He pointed out that trade relations should be mutually beneficial and stable.

Recall that on February 20, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the global tariffs imposed by the Trump administration in April 2025, citing an overreach of presidential powers.

Trump, for his part, criticized the court's decision, calling it a "disgrace" and stating that there is an alternative plan. Later, he signed an order imposing additional tariffs of 15% on all countries.
