In Tajikistan, road infrastructure is being built for nearly $1.2 billion

Currently, five projects are being implemented with a total investment of $570.9 million, while six completed projects worth $602.2 million are under warranty.

According to the Ministry of Transport, in 2025, the construction of several highways began, including the section from Dushanbe to Guliston (49 km) and Guliston to Farhor (29.6 km), as well as the reconstruction of the third section of the Obigarm-Nurobod road.

Last year, 243.5 km of roads, 30 bridges, 5 tunnels, 6 avalanche protection galleries, and other transport infrastructure facilities were put into operation.

In June of last year, the construction of several significant facilities was completed in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), including a 93 km section of the Dushanbe-Kulma highway, as well as the road from the Vanj district to the Dushanbe-Kulma highway (16 km) and avalanche protection galleries with bridges.

Also, in August 2025, a new section of the Obigarm-Nurobod highway was opened, stretching 75 km and including three tunnels and 11 bridges.

In November of last year, sections of the highways "Dehmoy - Bobojon Gafurov," "Bobojon Gafurov - Khistevarz," and "Kuchchak - Kanibadam" totaling 40 km were completed in the Sughd region.

The government of Tajikistan sets a strategic goal of breaking out of the communication deadlock. To achieve this goal, the Ministry of Transport claims that from the moment of gaining independence until 2025, 2407.8 km of roads, 274 bridges have been repaired and reconstructed, as well as the construction of 2 three-level and 2 two-level intersections and 7 transport tunnels.

Overall, during the specified period, 58 projects worth over $2.2 billion have been implemented in the country's transport sector.
