U.S. President Donald Trump announced the start of a significant military operation against Iran.
This decision followed reports from Israel regarding missile strikes on Tehran, as reported by the Kazinform agency.
In his eight-minute video address posted on the Truth Social platform, Trump stated that the military actions are aimed at protecting U.S. citizens.
According to the president, Washington's policy remains unchanged: Iran must not possess nuclear weapons. He also emphasized that the patience of the United States in negotiations over Tehran's nuclear program has run out, which led to the initiation of the operation.
Additionally, Trump announced plans to destroy Iran's missile capabilities and eliminate its missile industry.
In his address, the president called on the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to lay down their arms, guaranteeing safety to those who surrender. He warned Iranian security forces against resistance, stating that it would lead to serious consequences.
“I appeal to the Iranian police and security forces: surrender immediately or face inevitable destruction. To the Iranian people: your time for freedom is approaching. Stay at home; it is unsafe on the streets. When we are done, you will be able to govern your own government. This is your only chance to overthrow the regime,” Trump emphasized.
It should be noted that this morning, Israel carried out a so-called "preventive strike" on Tehran.
