In his speech, Gombojav emphasized that states need to identify key skills to adapt to changes in the labor market. He also noted the importance of supporting people of different ages when entering the labor market and the necessity of providing new educational opportunities. Managing risks and opportunities related to the development of artificial intelligence, as well as strengthening cooperation between the education and labor sectors, were also identified as critically important tasks.

The year 2026 has been declared the Year of Promoting Employment in the Family, Labor, and Social Protection Spheres. In this context, the government plans to focus on creating new employment opportunities for youth, women, and the elderly. Gombojav highlighted the need to prepare for rapid changes in the labor market, update employment policies based on current data, and target cooperation towards achieving real results.

The five-year development plan for Mongolia for 2026–2030 includes goals for adapting human resources to labor market needs, improving the interaction between labor relations, wages, and social insurance, as well as promoting decent employment and expanding the middle class. To achieve these goals, the government has presented a "300-day action plan for ensuring economic growth for citizens," aimed at inclusive distribution of economic benefits, protecting incomes and livelihoods, creating a favorable business environment, diversifying productivity, and achieving sustainable macroeconomic growth.

At the meeting of the National Council on Employment held on January 26, 2026, the Minister of Family, Labor, and Social Protection Aubaakir Tileukhan reported on the implementation of activities and programs to promote employment in 2026–2027. These include employment services, vocational training, employment support programs for the elderly and people with disabilities, small loans, and financial assistance.

The ministry is also working on updating the Employment Promotion Law. The proposed amendments will focus on more clearly defining target groups for employment support, implementing new management approaches in employment services, and creating a unified information system on employment based on big data. These reforms aim to strengthen public-private partnerships in employment promotion, expand the roles and responsibilities of employers and job seekers, and improve monitoring and evaluation of the law's implementation.
