Starting in 2026, the capital of Mongolia will see active development of green spaces and public parks, providing residents with more opportunities for recreation and leisure
The greening efforts in Ulaanbaatar will cover the area around Nogoong-Nuur and the eastern avenue of the Gandantegchinlen Monastery. The increase in population and the emergence of new residential complexes in the 9th, 10th, and 11th khoros of the Sukhbaatar district necessitate the creation of new public spaces. As part of the "20-minute city" concept, plans are in place to make this area more friendly and accessible to residents. In this regard, a park with an artificial water body will be organized on an area of 4.5 hectares near Nogoong-Nuur, which will include green zones, open spaces, bike paths, and parking areas. Additionally, in the Bayangol area, near Gandan, the territory of the 16th khoroo will be transformed, where preparatory work is currently underway to create a model street.
This year, the implementation of 48 projects for landscaping and construction will also continue, including playgrounds, football fields, pedestrian paths, public spaces, and fencing aimed at improving urban infrastructure.
Moreover, in 2026, the city plans to initiate 24 new projects focused on greening and development.
