Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan, Alibek Bakaev, reported on the current status of negotiations regarding the attacks on the Caspian Pipeline Consortium. He noted that the Republic of Kazakhstan is actively engaging in dialogue not only with Ukraine but also with European countries.

“We have invited the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassadors of European states working here. The discussion of these issues is ongoing, and the work is not being suspended. We urge our international colleagues and consortium partners to actively participate in energy security matters, especially concerning European countries, as the main direction for the export of our oil through the CPC is Europe,” Bakaev emphasized in response to a question from an Informburo.kz correspondent in the Senate's corridors.

He added that Ukraine's position on this matter “is not really defined.” “Negotiations are underway. Ukraine has not made any official statements yet. However, work continues at the level of diplomats and energy experts,” the deputy minister concluded.

In January of this year, drones attacked tankers carrying Kazakh oil at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium terminal. Since 2025, the CPC has regularly been targeted for attacks. For instance, on November 29, an attack by drone boats significantly damaged the offshore mooring facility. A drone strike also occurred on the night of November 25.

Additionally, on September 24, 2025, a drone damaged the city office of the marine terminal in Novorossiysk, and on February 17, an attack involving seven drones incapacitated the “Kropotkinskaya” pumping station, which is one of the main facilities of the oil transportation system.
