According to a report by CNN, the incident occurred in Minneapolis when ICE agents opened fire, resulting in the death of 37-year-old Alex Pretty, a city resident and U.S. citizen. Local police chief Brian O'Hara stated that Pretty worked as a nurse in the intensive care unit.

Witnesses claim that he did not resist and did not threaten with a weapon: according to them, the man was at the scene with a phone, filming what was happening, and was trying to help a woman who had been affected by pepper spray. However, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security reported that a weapon was found with Pretty, providing a photograph of it, but did not clarify whether he had threatened anyone with it.

After the incident, a crowd gathered at the shooting site, shouting insults at the ICE agents and demanding their immediate departure.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz stated in a message to the Associated Press that he contacted the White House and demanded an end to ICE operations in the state. "Minnesota is tired of this. It's terrible. The president must immediately stop this operation," he wrote on the platform X.

The recent shooting has become part of broader protests against ICE actions in the region. Earlier, on January 7, during a similar raid, 37-year-old Rene Nicole Good was killed, with federal authorities stating that she attempted to run over an agent with her vehicle, although video of the incident reportedly contradicts this version of events. This led to mass protests across the country against the actions of immigration services.
