The healthcare budget in Kyrgyzstan has doubled over the past 5 years — Baisalov

Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baisalov presented the results of significant changes in the healthcare system over the past four years at a national meeting in "Yntymak Ordo."

According to him, the consolidated budget of the medical sector increased from 26.3 billion soms in 2021 to 51.9 billion soms in 2025, which is a twofold growth.

Funding for the purchase of expensive medications and medical devices has increased 14 times.

Baisalov emphasized that special attention is being paid to the development of infrastructure and support for medical workers. In 2025, about 1 billion soms will be allocated for additional payments to doctors working in remote areas.

Additionally, over the past year, the construction of 10 new medical facilities has been completed. From 2021 to 2025, 21 facilities were built, and the construction of another 32 large medical complexes is currently ongoing.

Significant progress has also been noted in the field of high technologies in medicine. In 2024, 24 organ transplant surgeries were performed in the country, and in 2025, there were already 26, including complex kidney, liver, and bone marrow transplants.

It is worth mentioning that the national meeting in "Yntymak Ordo" was held to summarize the results of 2025 with the participation of President Sadyr Japarov.

Members of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of state institutions, authorized representatives of the president in the regions, mayors of Bishkek and Osh, as well as district akims also participated in this event.
