As part of the 'El Ümütü' scholarship program, 52 students from Kyrgyzstan are currently receiving education. This was announced by Edil Baisalov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, at a republican meeting taking place at 'Yntymak Ordo'.
According to him, the 'El Ümütü' initiative was implemented with the support of the country's president, aimed at developing talented youth and preparing qualified specialists for the republic.
Currently, the scholarship holders are studying at prestigious universities around the world, including Ivy League institutions such as Harvard and Columbia University, as well as Stanford, Oxford, Cambridge, the University of Birmingham, the National University of Singapore, and Seoul National University.
Edil Baisalov mentioned that when he worked as an ambassador in the UK, he hardly encountered students from Kyrgyzstan at well-known educational institutions, while students from neighboring countries were quite represented.
“Today, the situation has changed. In universities like Harvard, Stanford, Oxford, and Cambridge, there are 3 to 4 of our compatriots studying. These are truly talented youth who will be able to make a significant contribution to the development of our country in the future,” he noted.
The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet emphasized that the 'El Ümütü' program is a key tool for forming a new wave of professionals who will be able to represent Kyrgyzstan honorably on the global stage and work for the benefit of their homeland.
It is worth noting that a republican meeting is currently taking place at 'Yntymak Ordo', dedicated to analyzing the results of 2025, with the participation of President Sadyr Japarov.
This event also involves members of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of state agencies, presidential representatives in the regions, mayors of Bishkek and Osh, as well as district akims.
