In the Sokuluk District, technologies for restoring degraded lands are being implemented
As part of a working trip, Deputy Prime Minister Bakyt Torobaev visited the state enterprise "Kyrgyzmamasyltukumzavod" in the village of Frunze in the Sokuluk District. Here, he learned about the implementation of reclamation technologies aimed at restoring degraded arable land, as well as the use of modern agricultural equipment. This information was provided by the press service of the Ministry of Water Management and Agriculture.

At the enterprise, the operation of a chisel — a deep soil loosening implement that is actively used in resource-saving agriculture — was demonstrated. This equipment allows for loosening the soil to a depth of 40 to 70 centimeters, breaking up the compacted subsoil layer, which in turn improves water permeability, retains moisture, and optimizes air exchange, creating suitable conditions for the root system of plants.

According to experts, the use of modern reclamation methods can increase the yield of agricultural crops by 30–35 percent and significantly improve soil conditions.

These technologies are applied both at the pre-sowing preparation stage and in the restoration of compacted and degraded lands.

Launching new technologies in test mode, the minister emphasized that the development of reclamation and the renewal of equipment in the agricultural sector before the start of tillage operations are priority areas of state agricultural policy.

“To increase agricultural productivity, it is necessary to apply scientifically justified approaches to farming. A detailed analysis of soil conditions should be conducted before plowing and sowing to accurately determine its nutrient needs and, based on this, choose optimal agronomic solutions,” he noted.

Bakyt Torobaev also reported that as part of state support, equipment worth $2.5 million will be purchased in 2025 for agricultural producers and breeding farms in the country, which will be provided through leasing schemes.
