The Creative Industries Park supports the development of the creative economy through a preferential tax regime

In Kyrgyzstan, the Creative Industries Park (CIP) actively promotes the development of the creative economy by offering special tax incentives. This was stated by the director of the CIP, Kanyshay Mamytova, who explained that the park covers all aspects of the creative industry. The CIP was established by the Association of Creative Industries, which initiated the creation of this regime.

In 2022, at the Create 4 festival, attended by the country's president, the potential of the creative sector was demonstrated. In the same year, a presidential decree regarding the development of the creative economy was adopted, as well as a law on the CIP and a concept for the development of this sector in the Kyrgyz Republic.

In 2023, changes were made to the Tax Code and the law on social contributions, and a regulation on the Supervisory Board was approved. A key moment was the approval of the list of activities that can become residents of the CIP. In December 2023, this list was finally approved by a government resolution.

The formation of the Supervisory Board took place in February 2024, and it includes seven members, among whom are the deputy ministers of economy and finance. In April 2024, the CIP's directorate was registered as a public fund.

Kanyshay Mamytova clarified that to join the park, residents must meet certain criteria and follow established rules to receive benefits and support.

To become a resident, it is necessary to:

The process of joining includes creating a personal account on the CIP website, filling out an application, attaching the necessary documents, submitting the application, its review by the CIP director, and the preparation of documents for the Supervisory Board.

Currently, the CIP includes 72 types of activities. The Supervisory Board can annually appeal to the Cabinet of Ministers with a request to add new types of activities.
