The State Tax Service reminds that visitors to cafes and restaurants must receive a fiscal receipt from the cash register (KKM) when making a payment. However, often instead, customers are provided with pre-checks listing the names of dishes, created in the establishments' accounting systems, or simply screenshots of the order data.

Food service establishments participating in the pilot project for the implementation of fiscal software are required to use such systems with online data transmission functionality, according to the agency's statement.

Establishments not included in the pilot project are mandated to use cash registers registered in accordance with the law.

Depending on the business model, either fiscal software with online functionality or a registered cash register is used.

The fiscal receipt is the only document that confirms payment in the tax system, the receipt of tax funds into the budget, and protects consumer rights.

The Tax Service urges citizens not to forget to request fiscal receipts when settling bills in cafes and restaurants.
