It is important to note that prices in supermarkets may differ from market prices, and stores often have promotions on products at reduced prices.
Since the beginning of our monitoring in late October 2018, the cost of the grocery basket has increased by 4667 soms. Since the beginning of this year, it has risen by 1214 soms, and compared to the same period in 2025, it has increased by 1921 soms.

During 2025, the cost of the grocery basket increased by 686 soms. The lowest price was recorded on October 18 — 5791 soms, while the highest was on December 6, amounting to 6927 soms.

The nutritional standards for citizens of Kyrgyzstan were established by the government in 2009. According to this document, each resident of the country must consume 9 different types of products monthly.
The established norms include: 9 kg of bread products, 5 kg of meat, 8.2 kg of potatoes, 9 kg of vegetables, 10 kg of fruits and berries, 2 kg of sugar, 17 liters of milk, 1 liter of vegetable oil, 4 eggs, 100 grams of fish and fish products, and 200 grams of tea.

Based on the minimum norm established by the state, we calculated the cost of the consumer basket for a family of four, relying on prices in one of Bishkek's supermarkets. Recently, many city residents prefer to shop in large stores.
Of course, the consumption data is approximate and based on official norms. Considering that people have different dietary preferences, this study should not be perceived as absolute truth. It is more of a social experiment by 24.kg.
Grain products include both bread and pasta and cereals. Our family is typical, so among fruits, we choose apples and bananas, and among vegetables — onions, carrots, peppers, cabbage, cucumbers, and tomatoes. There is nothing superfluous in the basket, only the essentials.
