At the meeting of the Eurasian Economic Commission Council held on January 30, important decisions were made to support the agro-industrial sector of Kyrgyzstan. This information was provided by the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the country.
According to the agency's information, the new documents propose the introduction of tariff benefits for certain socially significant goods that are imported into Kyrgyzstan for domestic consumption and processing.
Cattle Meat
The validity of this measure will last until December 31, 2026.
The maximum import volume is 5 thousand tons.
The benefit applies to fresh or chilled cattle meat (EAEU HS codes: 0201 …), as well as frozen cattle meat (EAEU HS codes: 0202 …).
To obtain the benefit, it is necessary to have a confirming document from the authorized body of the member state, which indicates the importing organizations, as well as the nomenclature and volumes of the goods.
It is important to note that meat imported using this benefit can only be used for the production of meat products and only at meat processing enterprises. The export of finished products created from the subsidized raw materials to other EAEU member states is prohibited.
Sugar
This measure will also be valid until December 31, 2026.
The benefit applies to raw cane sugar (subheading 1701 13 EAEU HS).
The import volume must not exceed 20 thousand tons.
To apply for the benefit, a document from the authorized body of Kyrgyzstan is required, which confirms the purpose of the goods and contains information about the importers and processing organizations.
Raw sugar can only be used for industrial processing in Kyrgyzstan. White sugar produced from subsidized raw materials cannot be exported to other EAEU member states.
Citrus Fruits
The validity of this measure is also until December 31, 2026.
Exemption from import duties is provided for the following goods:
- fresh bananas (0803901000) — 3,000 tons
- fresh mandarins (0805210000) — 2,500 tons
- fresh table grapes (0806101000) — 1,500 tons
- fresh oranges (0805102000) — 1,000 tons
- fresh mangoes (0804500001) — 500 tons
- fresh kiwis (0810500000) — 500 tons
Cocoa Products
The validity of this measure is until April 30, 2027 (annually).
Cocoa butter (EAEU HS code 1804000000) — 300 tons.
The measures adopted aim to:
- ensure stable supply to the domestic market,
- support processing enterprises,
- curb price increases for socially significant products,
- develop the agro-industrial complex of Kyrgyzstan.
