The Swiss company can implement a gold traceability system in Kyrgyzstan

This innovation will help organize the work of artisanal mines and strengthen control over the supply chain of ore and gold.

At a meeting organized by the press service of the State Tax Service, Chairman Almambet Shykmamatov discussed potential cooperation with representatives of the Swiss technology company SICPA SA, which specializes in developing protective solutions and tracking systems for goods.

Participating in the dialogue were SICPA SA's General Director Philippe Amon, Strategic Development Director Jean-Philippe Godin, and other key company staff, as well as leaders of the relevant structures of the State Tax Service.

The main focus was on implementing a tracking system for gold extraction and other minerals, taking into account the specifics of Kyrgyzstan. This will help streamline the operations of artisanal mines, improve sampling methods, and ensure control over the supply chain of gold and ore, which in turn will help prevent the illegal circulation of these resources.

Almambet Shykmamatov emphasized that the implementation of a gold traceability system is a critically important task for the country.

“Kyrgyzstan has many deposits and companies engaged in gold mining. However, the lack of effective tracking mechanisms leads to risks of data distortion, including the possible concealment of extraction volumes by some unscrupulous players,” he stressed.

Moreover, he noted that significant preparatory work has already been carried out in collaboration with SICPA SA. A working group has been established, a draft roadmap has been developed, and the necessary groundwork has been laid for moving to practical actions. Both parties are ready to sign the relevant agreements.

SICPA SA General Director Philippe Amon expressed support for the State Tax Service's initiative to implement a monitoring system in the gold mining industry and highlighted the importance of this meeting.

He also added that the successful implementation of this project will serve as a foundation for future joint initiatives and will allow for the expansion of cooperation in implementing similar solutions for other minerals.

It should be noted that SICPA SA is a Swiss technology company specializing in protecting documents, banknotes, and goods from counterfeiting and illegal circulation.
