On January 13, the Deputy Director of the National Investment Agency under the President of Kyrgyzstan, Zhalyn Zheenaliev, shared information on attracting investments for sustainable development and energy in the country during a radio broadcast.

According to him, an analysis of statistics shows that the main areas of investment remain in the sectors of processing and mining. However, recently there has been noticeable progress in logistics and energy.

Zheenaliev noted that small hydropower plants and solar power plants are actively being built in the republic, and a wind power plant is also under construction in Balakchy. At the same time, the implementation of large hotel projects is beginning, which indicates trends in sustainable development.

“We are focused on attracting investors for projects that promote sustainable development. One of the priorities is the protection of Kyrgyzstan's nature, ecology, as well as ensuring workers' rights and meeting all necessary standards,” he added.

The deputy head of the agency emphasized that various industrial projects are being implemented on this basis, and the participation of international investors in public-private partnership competitions confirms the growing trust in this sector. As an example, he cited the joint launch of the Münü power plant with the International Finance Corporation, in which investors from the USA, France, the UAE, and other countries intend to invest funds.

“It is important that the focus is now on projects that align with the interests of the state and the strategic objectives of the country,” Zheenaliev concluded.
