- The first meeting of the National Coordination Body took place in Bishkek, organized by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) to implement the Country Partnership Program (CPP) for 2025–2029. The ministry's press service reported this.

The meeting was chaired by Bakyt Torobaev, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, along with Bakyt Sydykov, Minister of Economy and Commerce.

Representatives from the government, relevant ministries, international organizations, and UNIDO experts participated in the meeting.

As a result of the meeting, the structure and functions of the National Coordination Body were approved, establishing the procedure for inter-agency cooperation.

This meeting marked the starting point for transitioning from the framework agreement signed in July 2025 to the active implementation of projects — selecting initiatives, distributing responsibilities, and coordinating actions.

The main objectives of the program include increasing the competitiveness of the industrial sector, expanding export opportunities, introducing new technologies, developing infrastructure and human capital, as well as supporting sustainable and environmentally friendly growth.

Government bodies identified key areas for cooperation: the agro-industrial sector, light and pharmaceutical industries, digital technologies and innovations, as well as tourism development. UNIDO experts also proposed areas for technical assistance, including the establishment of integrated agri-food parks, the development of aquaculture and fisheries, and measures to enhance the competitiveness of the textile and pharmaceutical industries.

According to the logic of the CPP, 2026 will mark the start of practical initiatives and the formation of a project portfolio, while 2027 and 2028 will be critically important for:

Following the meeting, the organizers outlined the next steps: creating a project portfolio, improving inter-agency interaction, and activating efforts to attract resources for the timely launch of initiatives and achieving goals in industrial development.
