- At a press conference held on February 4 as part of the B5+1 business forum, Sergio Ghor, the special envoy of the U.S. president, announced the United States' intention to enhance its engagement with Central Asia.

Ghor noted that this administration considers the region to be one of the key areas in its foreign economic policy.

“We plan to focus on this direction over the next three years. For a long time, the United States has not paid adequate attention to this area, and we intend to correct this under President Trump,” he stated.

He also mentioned that increased attention to Central Asia was demonstrated during the C5+1 meeting held last year at the White House.

“Everyone could see that the importance of this region is emphasized directly from the Oval Office. We are aimed at mutually beneficial cooperation,” Ghor added.

According to the envoy, the United States is interested in expanding its economic and technological presence in Central Asia.

“We have advanced technologies and resources, and we are eager to collaborate with partners from this region,” he emphasized.

Ghor also noted that the participation of American companies in the B5+1 forum is unprecedented.

“I reviewed the list of companies, and this is one of the largest delegations from the U.S. to ever visit this part of the world,” he stated.

He emphasized that cooperation will develop both in the medium and long term.

“This is just the beginning. The presence of our companies here opens new horizons for interaction between the five outstanding countries and the U.S. We will continue this work in the coming months and years,” he added.

According to Ghor, joint initiatives will cover a wide range of areas.

“Participants will collaboratively develop ideas to expand commercial opportunities in areas such as e-commerce, artificial intelligence, critical minerals, agriculture, transportation, and many others,” he reported.

In conclusion, Sergio Ghor emphasized his personal interest in developing dialogue with Central Asia.

“It is a great honor for me to meet with the presidents of all five countries, and this is a unique opportunity that lies ahead of us over the next three years under President Trump’s leadership. I am determined to actively work on this in the coming years,” he concluded.
