- During the plenary session of the parliament held on February 5, 2026, Deputy Dastan Bekeshev raised the issue of the Cabinet of Ministers' interference in the operations of cafes and restaurants.

“I understand your good intentions, but the consequences of your actions can no longer be corrected. I do not understand why you decided to interfere in this area. Focus on more important issues, such as the prices of flour, oil, meat, and other products that we use in our daily lives. Instead, you have intervened in the restaurant business, which is already in a difficult situation. Will you be able to reverse your decision?” he addressed the government representatives.

In response, the First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Daniyar Amangeldiev, noted that the measures taken are aimed at protecting consumer rights.

“These steps were taken to protect consumer rights, based on the relevant calculations. We are working on this issue in the service sector. It is wrong to include service in the cost, as the reward should be voluntary. We are in the process of implementing these measures,” he explained.

Regarding the prices of socially significant products, Amangeldiev added that earlier, with the support of deputies, amendments were made to the Tax Code allowing the Cabinet of Ministers to regulate prices. Import customs duties were also abolished, and tax preferences were introduced, including exemption from VAT.

He reminded that in the post-pandemic period, the government is implementing measures to stabilize prices and control inflation in collaboration with the NBKR.

“State regulation of meat prices remains in effect. This year we continue to work with the NBKR to curb inflation and aim not to exceed 8%,” he added.
