Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision Closed a Fast Food Outlet in Bishkek After Mass Poisoning from Shawarma

According to the Department's information, the first symptoms of poisoning appeared in the victims at different times on January 15, and they sought medical assistance at the Republican Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital. All victims received the necessary medical care, and samples were taken for laboratory tests.

All victims consumed shawarma purchased from this fast food establishment on January 15. As a result of an unscheduled inspection conducted by specialists from the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Center of Bishkek, samples of ingredients, swabs from kitchen equipment, and remnants of finished products were collected for analysis. An examination of the staff for the presence of intestinal infection pathogens was also conducted.

During the inspection, violations were identified, leading to the drafting of 3 protocols for offenses. As a result, fines totaling 41,000 soms were imposed in accordance with Articles 80, 214 part 1, and 214 part 5 of the Code of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Offenses".

In connection with the identified violations, a directive was issued to the fast food manager to close the establishment, which was sealed on January 15.
