- On January 19, 2026, some flights were canceled at Manas Airport, including routes to Istanbul, Batken, and Manas. OJSC "Airports of Kyrgyzstan" provided clarifications on this matter.

The press service reported that two flights of Turkish Airlines and Pegasus connecting Istanbul and Bishkek were canceled. An Air Arabia flight from Sharjah (UAE) was redirected to Almaty by the crew's decision.

Additionally, the flight to Batken from Asman Airlines and two Tez Jet flights to Manas, located in the Jalal-Abad region, were also canceled due to adverse weather conditions at the destination airports.

On January 19, visibility issues were observed at Manas, however, landing conditions were met. The current visibility is about 400-800 meters.

Today, a new lighting signal system began operating in test mode at Manas Airport.

“Visibility is currently sufficient for accepting flights even with limited visibility, such as 400 meters. Previously, a minimum of 800 meters was required for this, and now the airport is operational,” the press service reported.

The previously used lighting signal system was of the first category, and now it complies with the second. The launch of the third category system is planned within a week.

OJSC "Airports of Kyrgyzstan" clarified that pilots operating aircraft must have the appropriate certifications for landing at airports equipped with CAT-3 systems.

“Since the airport previously operated on a CAT-1 system, pilots did not face any issues. Now they must undergo additional training and obtain certifications to perform landings fully,” the company added.
