In Kyrgyzstan, Deputy Bolot Saginayev proposed the creation of student dormitories with separate living arrangements for male and female students in major cities. He expressed this opinion at a meeting of the Scientific Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh.

According to statistics for 2025, there were 45,000 registered marriages in the country, while 13,000 couples divorced. The deputy considers these figures alarming for society.

“In this regard, I urge the Ministry of Science, together with the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy, to explore the possibility of building student dormitories with separate accommodations for girls and boys. In Bishkek, rental prices reach 40,000-50,000 soms, which is an unaffordable amount for many students. Some of them do not have access to affordable housing. The creation of student dormitories with the necessary infrastructure and separate living arrangements will help reduce social risks and strengthen the institution of family in the future,” he noted.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy Marat Tagaev added that one of the pressing issues remains providing students with housing, as the number of dormitories is limited while the demand for them is high.

He emphasized that government agencies are actively working in this direction, and the construction of student dormitories is an important and necessary measure.
