Nipah Virus: Enhanced Infection Safety Measures Introduced at the Borders of Kyrgyzstan

A ban on the import of meat and animals from India has also been implemented.

In response to the threat of the Nipah virus, strict infection control measures have been introduced at "Manas" airport. This information was provided by representatives of the Joint Stock Company "Airports of Kyrgyzstan".

The enhanced security measures aim to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.

Special equipment has been installed to monitor the health status of passengers, allowing for real-time body temperature measurement. Although this technology was installed back in 2021, it remains crucial given the current international situation.

Additionally, the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan has announced temporary restrictions on the import of animals and products from India.

It is worth noting that Kyrgyzstan's neighbors, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan, have also strengthened their security measures in response to the virus threat.
