As of January 28, 2025, temporary restrictions on the import of animals and animal products from India will come into effect in Kyrgyzstan. This decision was made to ensure veterinary and sanitary safety within the country, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.
The restrictions have been established by the Veterinary Service, as well as the Department of Animal Husbandry, Pastures, and Feed under the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.
The Nipah virus, which is a dangerous zoonotic infection, can be transmitted from animals to humans. In this regard, citizens are strongly advised to avoid purchasing animal products without clear indications of their origin and to ensure the presence of veterinary accompanying documents.
The Ministry emphasizes that the situation with epizootics is under constant control, and all necessary measures are being taken in accordance with established procedures.
