In connection with the registration of the Nipah virus, temporary restrictions on the import of animals from India affected by this disease, as well as on animal products, began in Kyrgyzstan on January 28, 2025. This information was announced by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The measures taken are aimed at protecting the veterinary and sanitary condition of the country.

It should be noted that the Nipah virus is a serious zoonotic infection capable of being transmitted from animals to humans. In this context, the Veterinary Service strongly recommends that the population avoid purchasing products without the appropriate veterinary documents and pay attention to their origin.

The Veterinary Service for Animal Husbandry, Pastures, and Feed continues to closely monitor the situation.
