For the first time in its history, the international reserves of the Kyrgyz Republic have exceeded 10 billion US dollars, as reported by Daiyrbek Orunbekov, head of the information policy service under the president.

He noted that this information was announced by the chairman of the National Bank of the KR, Melis Turgunbaev, who clarified that it pertains to the country's gold and foreign exchange reserves.

“Today we can proudly state that the volume of international reserves of Kyrgyzstan has for the first time exceeded 10 billion US dollars. This is an important indicator that places our country on par with developed nations. Kyrgyzstan has become part of the so-called elite club of countries with high reserves,” emphasized Turgunbaev.

Orunbekov also added that the achieved level of reserves is almost twice the state external debt of the republic. This creates a reliable protection for the currency market against possible external shocks and ensures coverage of the country's imports for almost nine months.

He emphasized that the growth of international reserves is a significant indicator of macroeconomic stability and trust in Kyrgyzstan's financial system.
