During the meeting, the deputy listened to the citizens' opinions and then shared his vision of the situation. One participant accused the authorities of "devilry" for the intention to lay the road through the cemetery.
Meder Aliyev emphasized that he understands the people's concerns. "I came to you to hear your opinion. No one wants their loved ones to be reburied. This is natural for any person. But we must consider that Bishkek is growing, the number of cars is increasing, and roads are becoming more necessary," he noted.
According to him, it is important to find a compromise solution that satisfies all parties.
Representatives of the local administration reported that the akim is currently holding a meeting with the mayor of the capital, Aibek Junushaliev, to discuss this issue. The residents of Novopavlovka also added that the mayor intends to visit the cemetery to finally resolve the issue of road construction.
It was previously reported that local residents received a notification from the municipal territorial administration No. 106 regarding the situation with the road construction on Profsoyuznaya Street. The MTA noted that two routing options are currently being considered — through the cemetery or around it, but a final decision has not yet been made.
Residents have started a petition demanding the cancellation of the cemetery demolition. An online petition has emerged, which has already been signed by a thousand people.
