A photo has surfaced on social media in Kyrgyzstan capturing a meeting of activists, scholars, and politicians with Kamchybek Tashiev, who previously headed the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), and the mayor of Osh, Jenishbek Toktorbaev.
In this image, one can see people who have already been arrested in connection with the case of early presidential elections, including Aaly Karashev, Bekbolot Talgarbekov, Emil Uzakbaev, and others.
At this moment, Jenishbek Toktorbaev has not commented on the situation.
We remind you that 75 representatives from the political, scientific, and public spheres have appealed to President Sadyr Japarov, requesting the initiation of early elections.
In response to this appeal, a criminal case was opened under part 1 of Article 278 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic regarding mass riots, as this event caused a wide public resonance and "aggravated the socio-political situation" in the country, as reported by law enforcement agencies.
On the morning of February 11, the 75 signatories of the appeal were taken to the investigative service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Five of them were detained and placed in a pre-trial detention center.
