Opinion: "Tomorrow, healers and charlatans will "treat" us and our children"
Public figure Marat Abdieyev expressed his concern on social media regarding the situation with the detention of pediatric nephrologist Nasira Beishbayeva in Bishkek.

He noted that such practices jeopardize the protection of medical professionals from professional risks, asserting that Kyrgyzstan needs to implement insurance medicine and legal protection for healthcare workers.

Abdieyev emphasized that the level of specialists like Beishbayeva is extremely high, and training a transplant surgeon requires many years of hard work.

According to him, by placing a doctor in isolation, law enforcement agencies risk depriving children of necessary medical care during the investigation.

Although Beishbayeva was released under house arrest after a strong public and professional outcry, the very fact of detaining a doctor who has saved hundreds of children raises questions.

In Abdieyev's opinion, such actions by investigative bodies demonstrate a punitive approach rather than a professional consideration of the situation.

A doctor, he stated, should not be subjected to criminal prosecution for adverse outcomes that can occur even when all medical protocols are followed.

According to the public figure, it is essential to distinguish between negligence and a tragic case where a patient's body fails despite the doctor's efforts.

Arrests, he said, should only be applied to those who genuinely pose a threat to society, not to experienced doctors.

Decisions like this cause serious harm to the entire medical system, as young specialists may avoid complex cases due to the fear of criminal prosecution.

Abdieyev warned that with such methods, Kyrgyzstan could lose high-class specialists.

He also raised an important question about where the insurance medicine is, which in civilized countries allows issues of medical liability to be resolved through insurance companies and professional commissions.

In conclusion, he expressed the opinion that both patients and healthcare workers need protection from criminal prosecution for professional risk; otherwise, tomorrow healers and charlatans will replace doctors.
