The Minister of Energy explained how much electricity tariffs will increase

Talaybek Ibraev, the Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan, provided clarifications regarding the increase in electricity tariffs until 2030.

During a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on industrial policy, transport, and the energy sector, held on February 24, he reported that the level of the Toktogul reservoir during the current heating season reaches 94%, which amounts to 9.4 billion cubic meters.

According to him, by April 1, the department is expected to complete with 6.8 billion cubic meters of water. Additionally, he noted that electricity losses were 10.6% in 2025, while in 2022 this figure was 12.1%.

The minister added that there are 1.6 million subscribers in the country, of which 923.1 thousand have installed automated electricity metering systems (AСKУЭ).

"On May 1, another increase in the electricity tariff is planned by 27 tyiyn. In 2027, it will rise by 33 tyiyn, in 2028 - by 39 tyiyn, in 2029 - by 47 tyiyn, and in 2030 - by 57 tyiyn. Thus, by 2030, the tariff will reach the cost price level of 3.4 soms for consumption up to 700 kW," concluded Ibraev.
