A Youth Council is being created in Kyrgyzstan under the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh

The main task of the Council is to actively engage youth in the political, social, and economic life of the country.

At today's meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Tabyldy Muratbekov announced the news about the creation of a Youth Council under the Speaker of Parliament.

The deputy noted that in Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry of Culture is responsible for implementing state youth policy.

“In the central office, there are only seven people working on this direction across the country. The functions on this issue are also assigned to district cultural departments, but their work often remains formal,” he added.

According to Muratbekov, an initiative to create a Youth Council under the Speaker was previously proposed and received support from the Speaker. Today, it was officially announced that this project would begin its work.

The main goal of the Council is to promote the active involvement of youth in various spheres of the country's life—from politics to culture—as well as to protect the rights and interests of young people.

The deputy is confident that the Council will become an important platform for interaction between parliamentarians and the youth of Kyrgyzstan. Quarterly meetings are planned, during which youth initiatives will be discussed and brought to sessions for further consideration.

The Council will include the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputies, representatives of state structures, youth organizations, students, and members of youth movements, as well as representatives of international organizations. The executive body will function as a secretariat, with representations in the regions.

The Chairperson of the Council will be appointed from among the members of the Jogorku Kenesh, Marlen Mamataliyev.

Tabyldy Muratbekov also emphasized that the financing of the Council's activities will not be carried out at the expense of the state budget.
