In an interview with the news agency "Vesti," the Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh, Marlen Mamataliyev, spoke about plans to change approaches in the work of the legislative authority and the new political configuration.
Support for the President through Legislation
The Speaker of the Parliament noted that at the moment, the main task of the parliament is not to create an independent political agenda but to ensure the necessary legislative framework for implementing the president's strategies.
“The president bears full responsibility for foreign and domestic policy, as well as economic activity. If he has defined the development course, our task as a legislative body is to support him,” emphasized Marlen Mamataliyev.
He also noted that deputies should focus on developing laws, monitoring their implementation, and interacting with the population.
Digitalization and Openness of Power
Marlen Mamataliyev announced large-scale changes in the administrative structure of the parliament, including the complete implementation of digital management in the coming months.
This transition will affect all aspects of work, from drafting bills to committee meetings. Digitalization will also provide citizens with the opportunity to interact with deputies in an online format, which will be an important step towards increasing the transparency of government operations.
Strengthening Ties with Russia
In the new political configuration, special attention is paid to cooperation with Russia, which Marlen Mamataliyev called a strategic partner of Kyrgyzstan. Inter-parliamentary work is expected to be twice as active in 2026.
The main focus will be on addressing issues related to labor migrants.
The Speaker emphasized the importance of active interaction with the State Duma of Russia on bills that directly affect the lives of Kyrgyz citizens in that country.
