Boris Podkorytov.
Boris Petrovich Podkorytov was born on May 3, 1948, in Frunze. His journey in football began under the guidance of the famous coach Vladimir Korobchenko. In 1966, he was invited to the experimental national team of the Soviet Union, preparing for the Olympic Games in Mexico, after a successful performance at the All-Union youth tournament. In this team, he played alongside stars such as Evgeny Lovchev and Sergey Olshansky.
As a player, Boris Podkorytov played for Moscow's "Lokomotiv" and became the captain of the "Alga" team.
After finishing his playing career, he switched to coaching. After completing courses in Moscow, in 1980 he took charge of Frunze's "Alga." Later, his path led him to work in international clubs, including Algeria, where in 1988 he became the national champion with one of the local teams.
Throughout his career, Boris Podkorytov coached Kazakhstani clubs such as "Kainar," "Astana," and "Zhetysu," and was also part of the coaching staff of the Kazakhstan national team. Upon returning to Kyrgyzstan, he continued his career at the "Dordoi-Dynamo" club, with which he achieved significant success, including numerous national championship and Cup titles. His team won the AFC President's Cup twice in 2006 and 2007.
In 2006, he also headed the Kyrgyz national team. In 2006-2007, he again became the head coach of "Dordoi-Dynamo," and from 2008 he worked as the club's general director. In 2011, he served as a consultant coach for the national team.
Throughout his career, Boris Podkorytov was repeatedly named coach of the year and was rightly considered one of the most respected specialists in the history of Kyrgyz football.
