FOMS: Weakness and dizziness may be a sign of anemia

According to information from the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund (FOMS), persistent weakness, increased drowsiness, and dizziness may indicate the presence of anemia or a decrease in hemoglobin levels in the blood. It is important to remember that early diagnosis of these symptoms can prevent serious health problems.

FOMS reports that every citizen of Kyrgyzstan has the right to receive a basic package of medical services, even if they do not have insurance status. This package includes 12 different types of medical assistance, including a complete blood count to assess hemoglobin levels.

To undergo an examination for free, it is necessary to register at the Family Medicine Center (FSMC) or the General Practice Center (GPC) and consult with your family doctor to obtain a referral for laboratory testing. If these requirements are met, the analysis will be conducted free of charge.

FOMS also emphasizes that having a mandatory health insurance policy significantly improves access to medical services. Insured citizens have the opportunity to take advantage of more than 40 additional types of laboratory tests, including biochemical and hormonal analyses. In addition, they can receive discounted medications with a discount of up to 50%, as well as undergo instrumental studies such as ultrasound and X-rays under the State Guarantee Program.

If there are difficulties in obtaining a free analysis or a discounted prescription, you can contact the FOMS hotline at 113. The call is free, and specialists will help check your insurance status and explain the process of obtaining a mandatory health insurance policy.
