Kyrgyzstan supported the global initiative on gender equality issues
On March 5, the Kyrgyz Stock Exchange (KSE), in collaboration with UN Women, organized the sixth annual trading opening ceremony called Ring the Bell for Gender Equality.

Under the motto "Rights. Justice. Action. For all women and girls," the event brought together representatives from various sectors: government, judiciary, financial market, international organizations, and media.

This initiative, held in Kyrgyzstan, is part of an international movement of stock exchanges aimed at promoting gender equality and sustainable development. The KSE, as an active participant in the global exchange community, supports this movement annually, emphasizing the importance of inclusive economic growth.

The main objective of the event is to draw public attention to the fact that empowering women is not only a matter of social justice but also plays a key role in ensuring the stability of the financial system and the economic growth of the country.

The topic of women's access to justice as a fundamental element of economic well-being was discussed in 2026. The focus was on addressing systemic barriers, including legal illiteracy and insufficient mechanisms for protecting property and labor rights.

Among the speakers were the UN Resident Coordinator in Kyrgyzstan, Antje Grave, the Deputy Minister of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sayra Izakova, as well as the UN Women representative in the country, Said Sadik, and other experts.

The General Director of the KSE, Aida Chodulova, noted that women occupy a fundamental position in Kyrgyzstan's financial sector, serving as highly qualified specialists and strategically minded investors.

She added, "Research shows that women investors tend to approach risks more thoughtfully and disciplined, contributing to market stability. Our goal is to create conditions under which women entrepreneurs and private investors can effectively grow their capital under the reliable protection of the law."

Said Sadik, the UN Women representative in Kyrgyzstan, also emphasized the importance of access to justice for achieving gender equality and expanding women's economic rights.
"When women can defend their rights and participate in economic life on equal terms, societies become more resilient and inclusive. We are proud of our partnership with the KSE within the Ring the Bell for Gender Equality initiative, moving from commitments to concrete actions," he added.

The event also featured panel discussions where experts discussed how creating conditions for the protection of women's rights can enhance the country's investment attractiveness.
