In anticipation of International Women's Day on March 8, 24.kg asked Kyrgyz politicians and public officials about their plans for the holiday and ways to congratulate women.

Marlen Mamataliyev, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, shared that this day has become more significant for him over time. In childhood, it was associated with simple things like cards and paper tulips that children made for their mothers. However, with age comes the understanding of the importance of women in every person's life and society.

“For me, March 8 is a family holiday. A woman is the foundation of the family, a source of warmth, patience, and strength, which often remain in the shadows but on which the home and society stand,” he noted.

The Speaker emphasized that it is women who make the surrounding world humane, bringing emotions, soulfulness, and kindness. “On this day, I try to be close to my family, congratulate my wife and daughters. Usually, the morning starts with flowers — this is a tradition. Sometimes we prepare dinner together or just gather, recall stories, and laugh. The most valuable thing is the time spent with loved ones,” he added.

He sincerely congratulated the women of Kyrgyzstan on International Women's Day, wishing them well-being and happiness in their homes.

Almambet Shykmamatov, Head of the State Tax Service, noted that over the years he has come to understand the significance of this day and the role of women more deeply. “In conditions of conflict and tension in the world, it becomes evident that we lack female wisdom and the ability to maintain harmony,” he noted.

He added that he prefers not to set strict rules for the celebration, allowing loved ones to choose how to mark this day.
