On Nurzhol Boulevard in Astana, an unusual art Christmas tree, made in the style of құрақ-көрпе, was presented. The creation of this unique object was made possible thanks to the efforts of creative volunteers, reports the press service of the akimat.
This project, which had already been implemented earlier in the capital and gained popularity among local residents, is now presented in an updated format at the request of the citizens. It combines traditional crafts and modern creativity, demonstrating how art, environmental awareness, and social cohesion can come together as a whole.
The organizers emphasize that the main goal of this project is to adapt national values to modern urban conditions.
“The eco-tree in the style of құрақ-көрпе has returned to our city at the request of the residents. We first implemented it in 2020. This time, it was important for us not just to repeat the concept, but to update it and add new elements. The project is inspired by the Year of Working Professions and the Year of the Horse, symbolizing respect for labor, movement, strength, and connection to traditions. All textile toys for the tree were created by the hands of citizens—from children to the elderly,” said project organizer Rakhima Mukusheva.
