According to information voiced by Esenbek Ergeshov, head of the Labor Migration Department of the Citizen Employment Center Abroad, in 2025, about 170 thousand Kyrgyz citizens left the country in search of work. This information was provided during a live broadcast on Birinchi Radio.
Of the total number of migrants, about 25 thousand people found jobs with the support of the employment center and private agencies: 5,500 of them through the center, and 19,500 through agencies.
“This is only 15% of all migration activity. The remaining 85% leave independently, relying on their own resources, acquaintances, and 'word of mouth.' Unfortunately, such migrants often face difficulties, becoming victims of labor exploitation or human trafficking. We monitor the situation of those who leave through our center, all the way until their return to the country,” Ergeshov noted.
He also added that there is a positive trend in labor migration. If five years ago about a million people left for work annually, now many of them are returning due to the improvement of the socio-economic situation in Kyrgyzstan.
“If previously Kyrgyzstan was a labor-exporting country, now we are starting to accept foreign citizens to work on our territory,” he emphasized.
