Trees were planted in the reclaimed cemetery in the village of Ozgur near Osh

In the village of Ozgur, located near Osh, a tree planting event took place today at the site of an old cemetery. This event is aimed at ecological restoration and greening. The event began with the reading of the Quran in memory of the deceased and the blessing of local elders, the mayor's office of the southern capital reports.

The event was attended by Mayor Janarbek Akaev, Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baisalov, as well as the ambassadors of France and Uzbekistan in Kyrgyzstan, representatives of universities, and local residents.



This cemetery has become the second site to undergo greening after reclamation work was carried out. During the project, 250 seedlings of two tree species, ash and maple, were planted over an area of 70 hundredths.
