In Kyrgyzstan, the work on eliminating anthrax outbreaks is coming to an end. This was reported by the director of the Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Service, Adilet Sotovaldiyev, at a meeting of the parliamentary committee that deals with agricultural policy, water resources, subsoil use, and environmental protection.

This year, an inventory was conducted, which revealed 567 registered anthrax outbreaks throughout the republic.

Sotovaldiyev noted that thanks to the efforts of local authorities, 560 sites have been eliminated, which accounts for about 95 percent of the total. He added that the work on eliminating the outbreaks is nearing completion.
