The main objective of this competition is to develop investigative journalism, attract new authors to this field, and identify cases of corruption and violations of the law.
Works are invited from journalists, bloggers, students, civil activists, and media organizations to participate in the competition. The evaluation of the materials will be conducted based on criteria such as relevance and scale of the topic, originality of approach, completeness of disclosure, presence of evidence, exclusivity of information, multimedia elements, as well as adherence to professional and ethical standards.
The best investigation will be awarded the Ulanbek Egizbaev Prize.
Applications for participation in the competition can be sent to the email address [email protected] until January 31, 2026. It is necessary to indicate the author's name, the full name of the organization or editorial office, as well as a brief description of the work. Applications received after the specified deadline will not be considered.
Materials published from January 1 to December 31, 2025, are accepted. One participant may submit any number of works, but unpublished materials are not allowed in the competition.

Ulanbek Egizbaev was a well-known Kyrgyz investigative journalist.
He passed away in July 2018 at Lake Issyk-Kul, and according to the results of the forensic examination, the cause of his death was drowning.
The journalist's death caused significant public resonance. In 2018, he was posthumously awarded the state medal "Erdik" for his contribution to journalism and active civic stance.
In honor of Ulanbek Egizbaev, an award was established, which is given for outstanding investigative journalism in Kyrgyzstan.
