A painting by Pablo Picasso worth one million euros will be raffled off in a lottery
The Alzheimer’s Research Foundation has announced the launch of an unusual lottery, with the grand prize being a painting by Pablo Picasso titled "Head of a Woman." This artwork was created in 1941 against the backdrop of the German occupation of Paris, as reported by The Guardian.
To participate in the draw, one must purchase a ticket, which costs 100 euros. The organizers plan to raise 11 million euros, requiring the sale of 120,000 tickets. All proceeds from the sales will be directed towards Alzheimer’s disease research. If the required number of tickets is not sold, participants will receive a full refund of their money.

The drawing for the painting is scheduled for April 14, 2026, at the Christie’s auction house in Paris.

French producer Péri Kochen has already conducted two successful lotteries featuring Picasso's works in 2013 and 2020, which collectively raised over 10 million euros. The initiative has been supported by the artist's grandson, Olivier Picasso, who noted that the lottery is a legitimate continuation of their family's charitable traditions.
