Most accidents occurred due to factors such as speeding, incorrect maneuvers, crossing into oncoming traffic while overtaking, driving under the influence of alcohol, as well as failing to yield at intersections and not adhering to traffic signs and distances.
The operational meeting held as part of the event was attended by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Oktay Urmambetov, Head of the Internal Investigations Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Ulan Biibosunov, and Head of the Main Department for Road Traffic Safety Azhenbek Kozukeev, as well as heads of the Main Department for Road Traffic Safety at the regional, city, and district levels.
Participants of the meeting discussed both achievements and shortcomings in their work over the year. It was emphasized that in planning activities, it is important to update approaches, avoid repeating old schemes, and adapt to modern requirements.
The message noted that traffic inspectors are under constant public scrutiny, so special attention should be paid to the quality of service and improvement of operational activities. There was also a directive on the need for active digitalization and establishing cooperation with local authorities.
Meeting participants stressed the need to strengthen control over the issuance of licenses for taxi drivers and implement additional measures to prevent road traffic accidents.
As a result of the meeting, instructions were given to eliminate the identified shortcomings in work, and disciplinary measures were applied to a number of employees.
