7,406 violations detected
The average speed control on the roads of the country will be implemented in Kyrgyzstan. At a meeting of the parliamentary committee, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Oktobur Urmambetov announced the start of testing the system.
According to him, special cameras are currently operating in test mode. As a result, 7,406 cases of speeding have already been recorded.
The goal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is to check the mechanism for accounting not only for individual violations near the cameras but also for compliance with speed limits over certain sections of the road, which should help reduce the number of road traffic accidents.
Urmambetov noted that about 70% of all accidents occur precisely due to speeding.
