At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh held on January 22, Deputy Meder Aliyev proposed reducing the workday for people with health issues during the summer period.

In his speech, he emphasized that climate change in Kyrgyzstan is becoming increasingly noticeable, and this requires appropriate legislative responses. "We are witnessing how the climate is changing, and global warming is becoming a reality. Summer temperatures reach 40 degrees, and this creates difficulties for workers, especially for the elderly, hypertensives, and those suffering from diabetes. In some other countries, more comfortable working conditions are established for such groups by reducing the workday by two hours. Could we consider similar measures?" Aliyev asked.

Deputy Minister of Labor Kamchybek Dosmatov noted that the current legislation lacks provisions for special working conditions due to climate changes; however, this proposal is worth discussing.
