Today, the parliament approved a bill concerning the reduction of the number of state awards. This decision was the result of discussions on the bill "On State Awards, Honorary Titles, and State Prizes" in its second reading.

This bill aims to streamline the existing award system, modernize it, and enhance the prestige of state awards.

The document aims to create a system of highest honorary titles that will reflect the moral recognition of citizens' contributions to society and the state, as well as eliminate duplicative norms and increase the social significance of awards.

Out of the 46 existing types of state awards, it is planned to retain 18, as well as introduce two new honorary titles: "Honored Innovator of the Kyrgyz Republic" for outstanding innovators who have made significant contributions at the national level, and "Pride of the Kyrgyz Republic" for achievements that have become symbols of national pride, including heroism and international successes.

Parliament Speaker Marlen Mamataliyev noted that a special platform was created to consider the questions and proposals received regarding this bill.

"During the consideration of the proposals, the most important issues were taken into account. In particular, the title 'People's Teacher' will be preserved, as well as the titles 'People's Doctor', 'People's Artist', 'People's Writer', 'People's Poet', 'People's Painter', and others," he added.

As a result of the discussion, the deputies unanimously supported the bill in its second reading.
