He called on the government to reduce dependence on imported goods
At a meeting in the Jogorku Kenesh, President Sadyr Japarov emphasized the need to prioritize locally produced goods. This statement was made in response to a question from Deputy Aigul Karabekova regarding the situation with syringe production in Kyrgyzstan.
The deputy noted that the share of local producer products in government procurement is quite insignificant.
In response, Japarov reminded of the support the state provided to this production a few years ago.
“At that time, we issued an interest-free loan, and it seems that the enterprise managed to recover. Currently, it produces about 500,000 syringes, but only a small portion of them is sold in the domestic market,” the president reported. He also instructed the Minister of Health to consider the possibility of supporting this producer and gradually reducing dependence on imported goods.
“It is necessary to pay attention to products made in Kyrgyzstan across the country. This is a task for ministries, deputies, and builders,” the president added.
